Description:

UFO debuted in 1970 with the hit "C'mon Everybody," which brought them to the attention of many as an up-and-coming rock band, but they subsequently fell into a slump. However, in 1973, the band brought in new guitarist Michael Schenker, formerly of the Scorpions, to produce the album "Phenomenon," and Michael Schenker's guitar playing and composing abilities were highly acclaimed, catapulting the band into the British hard rock scene in the 1970s. The band celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019, but a string of classic members have passed away, and recently core member Phil Mogg had a heart attack, raising concerns about the band's future. The band's live archive from the 1970s in the U.S., the band's early years, is now available on CD! With each album release, the band steadily increased their sales in the US and Europe. In 1977, the band released "Lights Out," which debuted at No. 23 on the U.S. album charts. The following year, in 1978, the band released "Obsession" and toured North America in search of greater success in the U.S. Their concert in Cleveland, Ohio on October 16 of the same year was recorded and broadcast on PBS Radio in the U.S. Due to the time constraints of the broadcast, some of the band's performances were not included in the program, but were broadcast on the radio. The concert in Cleveland, Ohio on October 16 of the same year was recorded and broadcast as a PBS radio program.Newly joined by Paul Raymond on guitar & keyboards, the live show changes the band's sound more profoundly. Michael Schenker's guitar playing became more dramatic and melodious, and he and Phil Mogg's vocals were in perfect ensemble. Michael Schenker left the band at the end of this tour, so this is a valuable live archive on CD.
