Pat Metheny, the undisputed favorite in the contemporary jazz guitar world, and Brad Meldor, who was considered the No. 1 young pianist with his new approach to jazz piano, began recording and collaborating in 2005. In addition to Metheny/Mehldau duo compositions, the album also features a quartet formation with the Brad Mehldau Trio's rhythm section of Larry Grenadier on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums, and the album "Metheny Mehldau" was released in 2006, followed by "Metheny Mehldau Quartet" in 2007. Metheny Mehldau Quartet" was released in 2007. With the release of the latter album, the quartet toured Europe from June 2007 with Grenadier and Ballard. Among them, a rare archive of their appearance at a jazz festival in Spain in the same year, 2007, is now available! This archive is from the performance at the Jazz Festival in San Sebastian, Spain on July 28, 2007, and includes the complete concert performance.The album features songs from "Metheny Mehldau" and "Metheny Mehldau Quartet," as well as songs from "Question And Answer" released by the Pat Metheny/Dave Holland/Roy Haynes trio and songs from the Pat Metheny Group's smash hit "Letter From Home.
