Fourplay was formed by Bob James, Lee Ritner, Nathan East, and Harvey Mason, all of whom are exceptionally popular in their respective fields of piano, guitar, bass, and drums in the jazz fusion world. This is the long-awaited release of a rare live archive of this super band! This album features the band's live performance in Japan at the Blue Note in Tokyo on December 20, 1992, the year after the release of their 1992 debut album "Fourplay," which topped Billboard magazine's Contemporary Jazz category for 33 weeks and was awarded a gold disc. The concert featured songs from "Fourplay" as well as "A Summer Child" and "Amoroso," two songs that will appear on their next album, "Between The Sheets," to be released the following year in 1993. Lee Ritner's brilliant guitar playing with the backing of talented players shines mellifluously on this extremely valuable archive of the early Fourplay.
