The jazz fusion movement that took off in the American jazz scene in the mid-1970s. Brand X emerged as an answer to this movement from the British music scene, and their rare live archive is finally available as an album! The band toured North America in 1978, following on from their 1977 tour. Shortly after the release of the "Masques" album, original member John Goodsole and Chuck Bergey, who had just joined the band, left. As a result, American guitarist Mike Miller and drummer Mike Clark joined the tour. The October 31 concert at New York's famed Bottom Line was recorded and broadcast for a special program on a local FM station. This album includes the complete performance. The technical live performance, reminiscent of the Chick Corea-led Return to Forever, shows once again the greatness of this band.
