Since their debut in 1972, the band has been active while repeatedly breaking up and restarting their activities, and this year they are releasing their first new album in a long time. The band, which had been inactive since the release of "Gaucho" in 1980, has been in a state of disbandment since Walter Becker produced Donald Fagen's 1993 album "Mantis Ad", which led them to resume their activities as Steely Dan. The band resumed their activities as Steely Dan again after Walter Becker produced Donald Fagen's 1993 album "Mantis Ad", and toured Japan and other countries in 1994. The concert in California on September 13, 1993, when he resumed his career as Steely Dan, was recorded and broadcast as a special program on Westwood One, a local FM station specializing in rock music.
