The Police, a super-rock trio formed by three musicians from different musical careers, has taken the world by storm. In the eight years of their existence, the Police released five best-selling albums, including the 1983 album "Synchronicity," which spent 17 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. album charts. In October 1981, the band released the album "Ghost in the Machine", and after two fatiguing world tours, they toured Europe and North America exclusively in 1982, playing 84 shows. The highlight of the tour was a headlining appearance at a rock festival in the U.K. Their 90-minute performance in front of 60,000 people was one of the most legendary of their career. The concert was recorded and broadcast as a BBC TV/radio special and later broadcast worldwide via MTV.This is a live album, using material originally used for broadcast by the BBC, and is a complete recording of the concert. The set list is a complete overview of the Police at this time, and some of the songs are performed with a special brass section. The Police's live performance during this period was a real treat for the audience. This is a rare archive of the Police's live performance, as no live album from this period has ever been officially released!
