Sammy Hagar left the band in June 1996, and David Lee Roth returned, but only to record new songs. In March 1998, the band released a new album, "Van Halen III," and embarked on a world tour. The Pittsburgh show on July 24 of the North American tour was recorded and broadcast for radio promotion. This release is based on the audio master used for the broadcast. The set list of the day consisted of 19 songs, including songs from the new album and other hits, medleys, guitar solos, and encores, and this live album is a complete recording of the concert. Although his voice is different from Sammy Hagar's, Gary Sherone blends in as a member of the band and delivers a powerful live performance that only Van Halen can deliver.Gary Sherone will be leaving the band after this tour, so this is a rare archival release of this lineup live!
