Pineapple Thief, a pioneer of European post-progressive rock, finally releases a new album! More than 20 years after its formation, Pineapple Thief continues to develop its original worldview with its acoustic and heavy sound. Led by multi-instrumentalist Bruce Sword, who serves as the band's frontman and songwriter, Pineapple Thief has been joined by Gavin Harrison, drummer for Porcupine Tree and King Crimson, since 2017 to deliver a more technical and diverse sound. The Pineapple Thief's new album will be released in September 2020 and will land in Japan! The band's anthemic "Dissolution" was released in 2018 to worldwide acclaim and charted at record high levels, and has been followed by two solo European tours, as well as a highly successful North American tour. The new release, "Versions Of The Truth", represents Pineapple Thief's successful rise to the top of the European post-progressive rock scene. The album is similar in theme to the "Post Truth" concept of the previous album, "Dissolution," but this time it is more personal and lyrical in expression. All of the songs reflect the chaos and conflict in contemporary society caused by the "versions of the truth" (i.e., different versions of the facts), and the influence of the media on our daily lives and those we love. The album was recorded at Bourne Place (London) and Sword Studios (Yeovil), with recording engineering by Bruce Sword and Gavin Harrison, and mastered by Steve Kitch, also a member of the band. Pineapple Thief's new album was written, performed, and mastered by the band themselves! A must have for all progressive rock fans of all generations.
