A leading figure in the pump rock movement that erupted in the U.K. in 1980 as a progressive rock revival, Marillion is still active as a leading figure in the progressive rock scene today. Marillion's third album, "Misplaced Childhood," released in June 1985, became the first album to reach No. 1 in the UK album charts and established the band as a top band. Marillion's first world tour "Misplaced Childhood Tour" started in May 1985 to coincide with the release of the album, and the concert in Wales on January 12, 1986 was broadcast on the popular American radio program "Kingston" to promote the tour in the U.S. The concert in Wales on January 12, 1986 was recorded and broadcast for the popular American radio program "King Biscuit Flower Hour" for promotion in the U.S., but it was never released as an album. The original broadcast masters have now been discovered and have been re-mastered to the best of their ability for this release.The setlist for this show was 18 songs including encores, and the live album included 12 songs for broadcast, mainly from the new album. The band, which was described as a follower of Genesis at the time of their debut, had established their originality by this point, and gave an impressive live performance as a full-fledged progressive rock band, and this live album reminds us of the greatness of this band!
