The Carpenters, a brother-sister pop duo, achieved worldwide success with their unique sound style in the Western music scene. Even after the death of lead vocalist Karen Carpenter more than 30 years ago, their works are still strongly supported as eternal masterpieces. The Carpenters' January 16, 1976 concert in Amsterdam, Holland, has been remastered and released in the best possible sound quality using master tape material that was discovered in a CD recording of the concert for a special program on Dutch TV broadcaster VPRO! The setlist for the concert included a medley of 11 songs and lasted about 60 minutes, and the European tour featured a musical performance in the middle of the concert, featuring Karen Carpenter's drum and percussion solo, as well as the hit number "Sing", which was performed with the audience in the microphone. The band also gave a more friendly performance of the hit number "Sing," handing the microphone to the audience and having them sing the chorus part, and singing the final chorus part in Japanese.The Carpenters quit touring and performing on a large scale after this 1976 tour, so the performance here will bring tears to the eyes of their fans.
