Description:
The legendary Minneapolis funk band "The Lewis Connection," which also featured Prince, has reissued their legendary 1979 album in a newly remastered edition. This legendary album by the Minneapolis funk band "The Lewis Connection", which also includes "Got To Be Something Here" featuring Prince, is a legendary album of which only about 100 copies were originally pressed. This is the first time for Prince to participate in an album under someone else's name, and he also participated in this album as a guest when he was recording his first album around 1976 at a studio in Minneapolis. The Lewis brothers, Pierre on keyboards and Joe on drums, were the core of the band The Lewis Connection, and Sonny Thompson, who served as band leader, was a bassist and vocalist who later joined the New Power Generation. Prince, who is at the center of the album's buzz, is featured on the fourth track, "Got To Be Something Here," where he contributes guitar and backing vocals. The song is a slow ballad based on spacy synths, and the sexy falsetto chorus of the young Prince (then 17-18 years old) over Sonny Thompson's tenor voice is simply beautiful....The album also includes "Dynamic Duo," the most euphoric fusion-style instrumental jazz funk on the album, and of course, a great Minneapolis funk classic that can be enjoyed as a single work.
