Their self-released 7-inch single “The Ghetto, There’s No Way Out,” released in 2012, has been generating buzz among DJs and early adopters. You might think they’re a new band, but they actually formed in 1992—making them quite the veteran act! Having come through the acid jazz and rare groove scenes, they’re a die-hard funk band that’s been playing funk since before the deep funk movement even went global! This talented group, which has been active throughout Europe with a focus on London, has a less pronounced jazz influence compared to The New Master Sounds or the Alan Evans Trio. Instead, they’ve honed a funk sound that’s as dark as it gets—and now they’re finally making their debut in Japan! P-VINE
