After "Juanita," which sold well as a modern Brazilian crossover masterpiece, Romain Andrén's "Cabra Negra" album has been very well received in the Japanese market for its studio live recordings, cover project recordings, and other quality works! I didn't expect this! This is a wonderful Latin jazz album reminiscent of Cal Jader! This album was created with a very simple band structure, consisting of a basic trio of acoustic piano, drums, and double bass, plus a viola and trumpet. Like Cal Jader of yesteryear, the essence of Latin, salsa, and Cuban music is incorporated into jazz, and the result is a wonderful work of art. Except for covers of the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" and Roberta Flack's "Where Is The Love," all original compositions were produced by Romain Andrén.This is a beautiful Latin jazz album that shines with organic warmth in a sophistication that is less loose and earthy than is typical of Latin music!
