Kenji Hanaoka Testament Song Production Committee

Despite his pessimism, Hanaoka's passion for literature, philosophy, art, and music, his memories of his hometown and the people he met, and his desire to express himself through melodies and harmonies, did not disappear until the end of his life. This work is based on Hanaoka's original idea. Junko Kishimoto, the daughter of a scholar of Japanese literature with whom Hanaoka had been in contact in his later years, took his intentions into account and wrote the lyrics. Kenji Yamashita, whose musicality Kenji Hanaoka valued so highly that he thought he could express the music on his behalf, composed and arranged the music. Kenji Hanaoka's younger brother, guitarist Shinji Hanaoka, who is also the leader of the band "Hana Shin," joined the band. On bass guitar, Masayuki Hanaoka, the third son of Kenji Hanaoka, who passed away a few weeks before the eldest son's departure, is joined by Akira Yoshikawa, Kenji's favorite pupil and a close friend of the three brothers, who has assisted him in his creative activities for many years, and who has played the bass guitar with prayer. On drums, Kenji Yamashita will play with Arne Kimoto, a young drummer who has been a musician for three generations, father and son, and a hopeful young drummer. Soprano Kazumi Fukagawa sings "Universe" in response to Hanaoka's wish for a clear and transparent singing voice based on classical music, which he had longed for and wanted to realize. The young musician Kazuhiro Ichiwa, whom Hanaoka had recognized and mentored, sang "Kaze ni Kikinasete" (Listen to the Wind). (C)RS
