This superb disc is packed with killer tunes, including "Morning Spring," which was sampled on Pase Rock's "It's About Time," produced by Nujabes! This is a complete release of the extremely rare mellow & jazzy soul masterpiece produced by Florida-based pianist Copeland Davis in 1975, which also includes a version of "NO ARMS CAN EVER HOLD YOU" with vocals, which was only cut as a 7" single at the time. Reissue! This 1975 album was produced by Florida-based pianist Copeland Davis, who is still actively performing live today, with the band he leads.The album is full of exhilarating sounds that would understandably attract attention in the free soul and rare groove movements of later years, including the opening "NO ARMS CAN EVER HOLD YOU" (M1) with its beautiful melody played by Davis' piano, "PERFIDIA" (M2) with its light touch piano and percussive beat that swells and swells, and "SO IN LOVE" (M4), a fast groove jazz song full of speed. The instrumental numbers such as "PERFIDIA" (M2), which swells with a light touch of piano and percussive beats, and "SO IN LOVE" (M4), a fast groovy jazz song full of a sense of speed, are also excellent, but there is a special mention to "JET" (M3), a medium soul song with Davis' own vocals, and the Nujabes-produced "JET" (M4). It also includes a killer soul number, "Morning Spring" (M6), which was sampled on Pase Rock's "It's About Time" produced by Nujabes, and other mellow soul tunes! In addition, a version of "NO ARMS CAN EVER HOLD YOU" with vocals, which was only cut as a 7" single at the time, is included on the CD and LP (first time on LP!). The reissue will be a complete reissue with an additional version of "NO ARMS CAN EVER HOLD YOU" on CD and LP (the first time on LP!)!
