Shonen Knife, the best girl band in the world, this is the starting point! Shonen Knife will release its latest album "Our Best Place" on February 15, 2023. The self-produced cassette tape from 1982, the first release, is legendary among Shonen Knife fans. It is rumored that only 89 cassette tapes were made (50 by the band and 39 by the label), and this is the first LP & CD release of this extremely rare item. In addition to the early versions of "Burning Farm," "Banana Leaf," "Summertime Boogie," and other songs that would later appear on the band's first through third albums, this is a true treasure, containing songs that can only be heard on this release.Later, in 1983, their first album "Burning Farm" was released on Zero Records on cassette (1985) on K Records, a label headed by Calvin Johnson, a leading figure in the US indie world. Kurt Cobain, who must have gotten a hold of it, was smitten and selected Shonen Knife to be the front act for Nirvana's UK tour, and the band became a worldwide presence. This is where it all started! A must for Shonen Knife fans!
