Description:
The 1st album of popular MPB singer Celia from 1970 has been reissued for a long time! Arrangements by Artur Velocay and Jogelio Dupra brilliantly color the classic songs by Joyce, Ivan Lins, Toninho Horta, and others! A cover of the French gal's club classic "Zozoi" is also included! Celia is a popular Brazilian singer with her smooth, low-pitched vocals. Following the reissue of their 2nd album "Celia" ('72), which is famous for its arrangement by Arthur Velocay, Mr. Bongo is also reissuing their 1st album from 1970, which is as good as the original! Joyce and Nelson Angelo (a married couple at the time) were actively involved in contributing songs to the album, as well as Ivan Lins, Antonio Adolfo, Toninho Horta, Lo Borges, and others from the Minas (street corner club) scene, making it a truly visionary album from the 70s. Composer lineup. Most of the arrangements were done by Tropicália's genius Jogelio Dupra, and Velocay also participated on one track.I would also recommend Toninho Orta's eternal classic "Durango Kid" and Milton Nascimento's famous "Lennon -McCartney," but the standout is "Zozoio," a cover of the French Brazilian groove classic "Zozoi" by the French gal.
