Shimono Tatsuya 、 Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra

Description:

<This is the fourth in a series of recordings by Tatsuya Shimono & the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, commemorating the 200th anniversary of Bruckner's birth! Following the release of Bruckner's Symphony No. 5 (OSBR36033) in December 2019 and No. 4 (OSBR37010) in March 2021 and No. 7 (OSBR39005) in September 2022, this new release of Bruckner's Symphony No. 5 (OSBR36033) will be released as the first release in December 2019, followed by the No. 4 (OSBR37010) in March 2021 and No. 7 (OSBR39005) in September 2022. Following No. 4 (OSBR37010) released in March 2021 and No. 7 (OSBR39005) released in September 2022, we will release No. 6 & String Quintet - Adagio (string ensemble version) recorded in February 2024 as the fourth release. Tatsuya Shimono, who assumed the position of Music Director of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra in April 2017, performed Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 immediately after assuming the position and received high acclaim. After receiving high acclaim for his performance of Symphony No. 8 immediately after assuming the position, he made his first recording of the symphony No. 5 live at the subscription concert on May 24, 2019.Since then, Bruckner performances by both orchestras have continued on a regular basis, and a total of six symphonies have been released. Although there are several complete symphonies and selected works by Takashi Asahina in Japanese orchestras, there are few cases of systematic recordings by orchestras other than those in Tokyo and Osaka. In this sense, these recordings by both orchestras are valuable, and it is no exaggeration to say that the impact on Japanese orchestras and audiences was so great because of the high degree of perfection that they had an influence on future Bruckner performances. It is no exaggeration to say that these recordings had a great impact on Japanese orchestras and audiences, and influenced the future of Bruckner performances. As for No. 6, although it is a piece with few opportunities to be performed in the past, Mr. Shimono himself said, "However, this symphony is beautiful. Time stands still. No, of course, it is flowing, but it feels as if it is floating. ~It is clear that he focuses on the beauty and fluidity of the original melody in No. 6, rather than on Bruckner's conventional reputation of high compositional power, solidity, and massiveness in other pieces. The two musicians' performance of No. 6, which is sandwiched between the great No. 5 and the popular No. 7 and is, in a sense, unfavorable, will give you a good sense of the splendor of the No. 6. The two recordings of the Adagio from the String Quintet, arranged by Sukrovaczewski for string orchestra, are also included on this disc. There are not many recordings of this piece, so it is a valuable source of sound for Japanese orchestras. The authentic interpretation by Mr. Shimono, who studied with two great Bruckner conductors, Takashi Asahina and Sukrovaczewski, is remarkable. As in the past, the recording was made by Brain Corporation, which is based in Hiroshima and has made many recordings with the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra. The excellent sound quality of the recordings is again a must-see. This is the fourth release in the series, and the results are sure to be appreciated by music fans throughout Japan. The fifth release of the series, Symphony No. 8 & No. 1, will be released at the same time. (1/2)
