Aki Takahashi and two composers united by Satie in a must-hear session that includes their first recordings. "Feldman, Takahashi, Satie, and Cage were all brought together by the arrangement of 'Cheap Imitation. This arrangement is an intimate party of artists who all share a deep affection for one another with the utmost delicacy."-James Pritchett (from the booklet) Two composers and Aki Takahashi, who both admired and were inspired by Satie. This is a valuable collection of Cage's works, including a world premiere recording, with Takahashi at the piano, to whom Feldman dedicated an arrangement of the work. The booklet includes a commentary by Pritchett and an essay by Takahashi describing his days with Cage and Feldman in 1980. [In 1973, she received the 1973 Art Festival Excellence Award for "The World of Aki Takahashi," a collection of 20 contemporary works from Japan and abroad. which included 20 contemporary works from Japan and abroad.In 1975, together with Kuniharu Akiyama, he organized the "Eric Satie Concert Series", which became a great opportunity for the "rediscovery of Satie". In 1980, he was invited by Morton Feldman to visit the U.S. In 1984, he was a visiting professor at the California Institute of the Arts, and in 1983, he received the first Kenzo Nakajima Award, and in 1986, the first Kyoto Music Award for Practice. In 2003, he received the 21st Kenzo Nakajima Award for his "Piano Dramatic" series at Hamarikyu Asahi Hall in Tokyo. He has planned, produced, and performed the "Hyper Beatles" series, in which he commissioned world-class composers of contemporary music to create works based on Beatles' numbers, and has completed four CDs. In 2006, his recital of Feldman's works in New York City was selected by the New York Times as one of the best concerts of 2006.For his CD "Schubert: Piano Sonatas" and "Morton Feldman: Trio", he received the 2007 Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award for Art Encouragement. Also, his CD "Dangerous Night - Aki Takahashi Plays John Cage" won the Excellence Prize at the 2008 Japan Arts Festival. In 2011, he was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon, and in 2014, the 23rd Asahi Contemporary Music Award. He is the author of "Parlando: My Piano Life" (Shunju-sha). Camerata Tokyo
