Season 1 & Season 2 totaled 26 episodes at a total production cost of 21,000,000 Euros (approximately 100 million yen per episode), and were produced by Gutsy Animations. The production cost (approximately 2.5 billion yen), the highest ever for a TV program produced by the Finnish national broadcasting company, was invested to create a completely new Moomin by combining the feel of hand-drawn 2D celluloid animation with the features of 3D animation and the latest 4K technology. The story is both nostalgic and fresh, newly adapted under the supervision of Moomin Characters of Finland.Each episode will be accompanied by an original piece of music by Scandinavian and European artists that fits the theme of the episode. The dubbed Japanese version will feature Junta Terashima as Moomintroll and Junta Terashima as Moomintroll. The Japanese dubbed version features Junta Terashima as Moomintroll, Minami Tsuda as Moomintroll's girlfriend, Snoke's little sister, Ikue Otani as Little Mii, and Issei Takahashi as Snufkin! In the English version, the characters are brought to life by Taron Ejaton as Moomintroll, Rosamund Pike as Moominmamma, Edwin Endre as Snufkin, and Academy Award® winning actress Kate Winslet as Filifiyonka.
