Description:
Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017, "Chojin Rock" is Japan's longest running manga as a series of works, still being serialized. This commemorative work, the first animated version of this historical masterpiece featuring a boy who lives forever, is finally being released on Blu-ray, just before the 35th anniversary of its release in 2019! One of the charms of this film is that Saint Yuki himself participated in supervising the work and designing the characters. The cast includes Keiichi Namba, who would gain popularity as Kazuya Uesugi in "Touch" as the main character, Rock, a boy who lives forever; Yoshito Yasuhara, famous for playing Toshio Utsumi in "Cat's Eye" as Ryu Yamaki; Keiko Ban as Jessica; and Yoshiko Fujita, Hidekatsu Shibata, Mieko Nobuzawa, Banjo Galaxy, and Shigeru Chiba, the best lineup when the film was released. The highlight of the film is the cast of the best lineup at the time of its release. --The year is 0301 in the history of the universe. In the year 0301 of the Universe, Ryu Yamaki of the Federation Military Intelligence Bureau asks for cooperation from Esper Locke, who lives a quiet life by himself. He wants to find out about the Millennium, which Lady Khan is trying to establish by training espers, and her ambitions.Meanwhile, Lady Khan, upon learning of their contact, raises a beautiful girl named Jessica to be the galaxy's only esper killer and brings her close to Yamaki as an emissary to assassinate Locke. Includes a reprint of the theater pamphlet. Jacket design by the original author, Yuki Seiki. This film is the same content as the DVD "Chojin Rock: The Witch's Century [Theater Version]" released by Pioneer LDC.
