The second album by Riho Aoki, a pianist and composer based in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. When clouds shimmer with the colors of the rainbow, music is born in the heart. Building on the world of her previous album, *News from the Heart*, which garnered attention for its soothing compositions, this new work expands her expressive range into a neoclassical sound that feels like quietly swimming through a dreamlike space. “Saiun” refers to the phenomenon where clouds, bathed in sunlight, shimmer with iridescent hues. As if capturing a miraculous, fleeting moment in nature, this album depicts shifting light, colors, and even the ripples in the air as delicate soundscapes. Organic melodies where rhythm and melody echo one another, and chord progressions that swim gracefully like fish. In the latter half of the album, unique reverberations, noise, and delicate electronics blend together, inviting the listener into an unknown landscape hidden deep within the silence. This album sublimates influences from modern and contemporary classical music, ambient, pop, and Latin American neo-folklore into vivid and original music.
