Michio Kakutani: The truth about the untimely death of underground punk psychedelia, brought back to life from newly discovered demo tapes. Bonus tracks include a rare session with Ramo Nakajima and Soshi Suzuki. You are the freedom of the far north... To live... To be able to... I know. The truth about the untimely death of underground punk psychedelia, brought back to life from newly discovered demo tapes. Bonus tracks include a rare session with Ramo Nakajima and Soshi Suzuki. Note that the lyrics of the song sound wrong! Essay by Soji Suzuki Commentary: Morita Jun Unpublished illustrations Newly discovered material from "'87 KAD 3:4:5:6" by Morita Jun Michio Kakutani (1959 - 1990) was a legendary punk/psychedelic rock musician active in the Japanese underground scene of the 1980s. He is said to have suffered from schizophrenia and appears in a novel by Ramo Nakajima as a model. He is believed to have died of pancreatitis caused by a drug overdose, and the album "Rotting Telepathies," released by P.S.F. after his death, is the only official source of his music until now. However, the newly discovered sound sources among Ramo Nakajima's belongings include studio recordings that were not available at the time of production of the P.S.F. album. In order to go one step further from the former editorial policy of collecting sound sources in the form of an anthology, we are reissuing the demo tape entitled "'87 KAD 3:4:5:6" in its entirety in order to get a closer look at Kadoya's real image. Unfortunately, we are unable to contact his relatives, and we would appreciate it if anyone who may know of any of them could let us know. We have also included his handwritten album cover as a primary source of information. We have also included the album cover as a primary source, as it seems to reflect his handwriting and writing style directly in the music, and it would be unwise to tamper with this highly finished tape, which shows his attention to lyrics and song order. Note that the lyrics to the current song sounded wrong!" (See end of track 6, "Escape A Way TAKE 1". There is a similar note on the cover. It is impossible to hear the lyrics completely in either song, although it is a sign that he was more perceptive than others to the discrepancy between voice and meaning.)Note that the eighth track, "Ame no ・・・・ (TAKE2)" was replaced from a more complete tape that was recorded elsewhere. The ninth bonus track, "Ame no (TAKE2)," was replaced with a more complete version from another tape. Suzuki's performance shows his distinctive features, and it can be seen that he was co-leading the session with Kakutani. For details, please refer to the essay of this work. (1/2)
