Recorded between 1988 and 1989, immediately following the group’s breakup, this ill-fated solo archive was long prevented from official release. Centered on tracks that were intended for her phantom second album, this treasure trove showcases her true, fresh pop sensibility, unleashed after she stepped away from the hustle and bustle of the major labels. The initial reissue was a limited-edition CD in 2004, followed by the first-ever LP release in 2015, but prices for all versions have since skyrocketed. This 2026 reissue—a must-have for fans—features previously unpublished portraits, detailed liner notes by ROSEMCDOWALL herself, and artwork that captures her original vision. The sublime pop song "TIBET," with its crystalline melody that tears at your heart; "WINGSOFHEAVEN," which carries the echoes of stadium pop while harboring a sense of fragility, and the title track "CUTWITHTHECAKEKNIFE," which seeps deep loneliness into its celebratory sound—these nine tracks mark a historic turning point in her career.
