Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Lau Lo's family immigrated to Europe as teenagers, but life was tough, first in northern Italy and then in Brighton on the south coast of England, where he found work as a factory and cleaner. Says Lau, "We were never able to return home, so my connection to Brazil consists mainly of childhood memories and a passion for Brazilian music from the 60s and 70s." (1/2)
