This highly anticipated release comes from the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who is set to visit Japan for the second time in 2026. In addition to his work as a singer-songwriter, Antonio Roalheiro showcases his versatile talents as a producer and composer. He is active not only within Brazil but also transcends national and genre boundaries—producing artists from Uruguay and Portugal, collaborating with rising stars in the jazz world such as Kurt Rosenwinkel and Miho Hasama, and performing with Japanese musicians like Quruli and Shiro Hasegawa. This album, *AldeiaCoracao*, marks Roalheiro’s first release in seven years. Produced with collaborators on most tracks, this album has also become his most intense and electronic work to date. “AldeiaCoracao,” with lyrics by Chigana Santana—known for her serene Afro-Brazilian sound; “Sera,” featuring vocals by Henato Bras, a leading figure in contemporary MPB, and string quartet arrangements by longtime collaborator Rafael Martins; the bossa nova track “Compaixão,” composed by Pedro Martins; “Vai Cair,” featuring the virtuoso alto saxophonist David Binney and released as a lead single; “Aurora,” also released in advance; and finally “Buniti,” the closing track that offers a surprising shift to a remarkably simple piano arrangement—these nine tracks navigate the space between acoustic and electronic, tonal and atonal, while delivering an organic ensemble where vocals, percussion, and electronic sounds blend seamlessly.
