Mickey Yoshino’s long-lost first solo album, *1970*, recorded when he was 18, is being released on vinyl for the first time after more than half a century! Mickey Yoshino had already attracted attention from many quarters at a young age as a genius keyboardist. In 1970, while he was a member of The Golden Cups and just 18 years old, he recorded a legendary first solo album with a star-studded lineup that transcended the boundaries between jazz and rock—yet it remained unreleased. Composed by Mickey Yoshino (Hammond organ, Clavinet), arranged by Masahiko Sato, Drums: Takeshi Inomata; Bass: Masaoki Terakawa; Guitar: Kosei Mizutani; Percussion: Naomi Kawahara… This precious session remained unreleased for many years, but in 2008, the master tape was miraculously discovered and released for the first time as the CD *Meand’70s*. In 2016, a 7-inch single featuring the first two tracks from the album, “GETWILD” and “HINODE,” was released but sold out immediately; it remains a coveted item among club DJs to this day. In recent years, early Japanese new rock, psychedelic, and and jazz—a genre that has been garnering increasing attention from a diverse international audience. With a voracious appetite for musical diversity and a robust sense of rhythm, the instruments clash and interplay, resulting in a sound that captures the social climate and chaos of 1970 with astonishing quality. Symbolizing a precious era when spirited young musicians spent their days and nights in thrilling, chaotic jam sessions, this album holds immense historical significance: it is a super-S-class, incredibly powerful instrumental album. After more than half a century, it is finally being released for the first time on LP (2026 latest remaster)!
