An image album based on Kazumasa Hirai’s science fiction novel *The Great War of Illusion and Magic*, this is one of the representative works of Sense of Wonder, led by Hiroyuki Namba. Other concept albums based on science fiction novels produced by Sense of Wonder around the same time include the 1984 release “Green Requiem” (based on the novel by Motoko Arai) and "The Whale Who Sang in the Galactic Network" (original work by Mariko Ohara), released in 1985. While both have been reissued on paper-sleeve CDs, a paper-sleeve release of this work—which most strongly embodies the progressive rock spirit—had long been eagerly anticipated. For Sense of Wonder, whose career spanned mostly as a keyboard trio, this is the only work from their twin-keyboard, four-member era featuring Rei Atsumi (then known as Rei Atsumi), who later led progressive bands such as Moon Dancer and Tachyon and went on to become a member of VOWWOW. The record jacket, insert (GENMA visual sheet), and enclosed poster—all created by Noriyoshi Ikura, an internationally acclaimed illustrator known for his work on the "Star Wars" movie posters—have been faithfully reproduced. 2026 Remaster.
