A miraculous discovery: the earliest live recordings of the D'Swooners, made in January 1968 just before their Japanese debut Extremely rare live recordings from their time as the house band at the legendary Chigasaki Pacific Hotel’s “Ikaku” venue—made just before their Japanese debut—are released on CD for the first time from Osamu Kitajima’s personal tape collection. Ranging from garage-psychedelic-tinged performances centered on Western pop covers to lounge-style numbers, the group mastered groove and rhythmic interpretation within a modern jazz chorus framework. Furthermore, the precision of their band orchestration is particularly noteworthy. As a living textbook for Japanese bands of the era, this is a one-of-a-kind record capturing "the Swooners as a live band." *Please note that some tracks fade out mid-performance. However, all tracks are sourced from master recordings, and in light of their historical significance, we have compiled them using the best possible methods given the existing source material.
