Satoshi Sugiyama spent his childhood in Hamburg, Germany. After winning the "2nd Kobe Next Jazz Competition," he debuted in 2010 with his first album, Someday. This solo piano work was recorded with the concept of "dialogue with his own journey," reflecting Sugiyama's continued activities based in Kansai after honing his craft through participation in overseas jazz festivals and a solo move to New York since his debut. The eight tracks, comprising original compositions and jazz standards, showcase melodic beauty brimming with songfulness and a crisp, well-defined piano touch. (C)RS
