The long-awaited third album from Pauline Rondeau, aka Catbug, a "farmer-songwriter" who spins songs while running a small farm, is now available! It's been three years since Paulien Rondou aka Catbug's last album "slapenonder een hunebed", which attracted many listeners with music that is the legitimate successor of female singer-songwriter icons such as Judee Sill, Linda Perhacs and Vashti Bunyan, and songs in Dutch rooted in her life on her farm. The long-awaited third album "Musjemeesje" by Paulien Rondou, aka Catbug, has arrived. The theme of this album is the wild birds that inhabit the farm and its surroundings. Catbug began observing birds after receiving a pair of binoculars as a gift, which inspired him to create new compositions. Birds have always energized and inspired me with their strange habits and chirps," he says.It appeals to my inner child." (Catbug) Like the previous album, this one was produced and mixed by Aiko Devriendt, and recorded at a studio owned by pianist Guy Van Nuyten. The recording took place in a studio owned by pianist Guy Van Nuyten. In order to keep the atmosphere of the album free of decoration, the composition was naturally simple, but the less sound there was, the richer the music became. The result is a unique and dreamy piece of indie folk reminiscent of Joni Mitchell or Jessica Pratt. As with the previous album, this is one that I recommend to all good music listeners.
