The latest album from one of the metalcore originators, UNEARTH, released just after the new year! The latest album from one of the metalcore originators, UNEARTH! Formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1998, UNEARTH, along with their predecessors such as EARTH CRISIS/HATEBREED and hometown brethren such as KILLSWITCH ENGAGE/SHADOWS FALL, have contributed greatly to the spread of metalcore, which, while originating from hardcore, has aggressively approached metal. They have released 7 studio albums to date, and have toured Japan multiple times, including appearances at Extreme the DOJO and LOUDPARK. The music video for the title track "The Wretched; The Ruinous" features live footage of the band performing in Tokyo. This is the band's latest work after a five-year absence.This is the first album after the return of the second drummer Mike Justian, and like the previous album, it employs Will Putney (MACHINE HEAD/EVERY TIME I DIE/KNOCKED LOOSE/VEIN) for production. The sharp riffs, speed, weepy phrases, and brutal tones of this album are very dignified.
