Eiji Takehana, one of the originators of Japan's club jazz scene and a DJ/producer who continues to lead the scene today, has broken his six-year silence to release his long-awaited latest 7inch single, a ferocious, dense, and superb jazzy drum-based track. Eiji Takehana is a DJ/producer who has been active in the Japanese club jazz scene since the late 80's, mainly under the name Jazz Brothers, and continues to be at the forefront of proposing jazz as club music today. On side A is "Jumpin' Jazz," a strong drum'n'bass track that seems to trace his own DJ attitude. The flip side features "New Age Step," a floor-shaking track with a piano melody that can hardly be described as Latin jazz or tribal, intertwined with a jet-black groove. Finally, a disc that embodies the ever-evolving and ever-deepening VINYL DJ EIJI TAKEHANA has been released.
