The lines drawn by the melody stretch freely to infinity. His first trio album recorded in New York. Produced by Makoto Ozone. After graduating from Keio University, he moved to the United States and was selected for the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where Danilo Pérez serves as music director. He graduated from the Barclay School of Music with top honors in 2019 and, after returning to Japan, joined the "From Ozone till Dawn" project, a program for nurturing young musicians led by Makoto Ozone. In May 2024, he made his debut with the solo piano album "When I Sing," produced by Makoto Ozone, featuring all original compositions. Since then, in addition to his solo activities, he has performed live in various formats, including with the Shutaro Matsui Group, with orchestras, and with the unit "soraya" with Kona Ishikawa. This trio album, his first, was recorded in New York in June 2025, once again under Shin Ozone's production.In recent years, he has been known as a member of the Julian Lage Trio, and this album, like his previous work, consists entirely of original compositions performed by a trio featuring drummer Dave King (The Bad Plus), known for his work with Julian Lage, and bassist Charlie Lincoln, a close friend since their days at the Barclay School of Music. The trio's fresh and vivid interplay is reminiscent of the Ornette Coleman Trio and Keith Jarrett Trio of the 1960s. The jacket illustration was drawn by artist Michiaki Mochizuki.
