An original soundtrack CD of Godzilla films directed by Takuya Kaminishi, the short film "Godzilla vs. Megalo" features Megalo on the 50th anniversary of his birth and will be released at the Godzilla festival in 2023. The short film, "Godzilla vs. Megalo," is a monster battle produced in collaboration with Akihiro Shibata, the creator of the much-talked-about "Gifu Godzilla" and backed by Toho's production label, GEMSTONE Creative Label. In June, the film was released in limited theaters as one of the films in the "GEMNIBUS vol. 1" omnibus series. The previous film was "Godzilla vs. Giganrex," which was released at Godzilla Fest 2022 and has over 10 million views on YouTube. For "Godzilla vs. Megalo," music by Akira Ifukube and Riichiro Manabe was arranged by the up-and-coming Tsubasa Handa and newly produced in stereo. The soundtrack by Takayuki Hattori also appears in the film. (The original monaural recording is also included as a bonus.) In addition to Ifukube, music by Reijiro Koroku from the Heisei series was used in "Godzilla vs.The climax of the film is a surprising use of Beethoven's piano sonata! In order to make this an original soundtrack disc, Wilhelm Kemp's sound source from Deutsche Grammophon has been newly adopted. In addition, the artwork continues in the tradition of the "Complete Collection" released to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the film. The jacket, which expresses the period with a Showa- and Heisei-era movie theater billboard style, is designed in the image of distribution, a form of video viewing in the 2025 era. On the other hand, the double-jacket specification reproduces the Showa era style as well. This is a jacket that can be enjoyed by those who were introduced to Godzilla through this work as well as those who purchased the "Daizenshuu" (complete works), allowing them to feel the flow of "Godzilla" through the Showa, Heisei and Reiwa eras.
