This is the Albanian-Swiss singer's fourth ECM album and latest release in 2020. A collaboration between Elina Deni and British guitarist Rob Luft, the duo began in 2017 and for this quartet work they are joined by Swiss flugelhorn player Mathieu Michel and British pianist/percussionist Fred Thomas. The theme of the immigration crisis, explored in the previous work "Partir," is again a central issue in this work, with the addition of environmental concerns. In addition to Albanian sounds and Mediterranean folklore, the quartet also covers a wide range of musical genres, from original compositions to famous songs by Frank Sinatra and Charles Aznavour.
