The Chieftans have been a leading force in spreading the appeal of Irish music throughout the world since their formation in Ireland in 1962, incorporating a variety of genres. Especially since the 1980s, the group has produced many hit albums and won a total of seven Grammy Awards, including six Grammy Awards, and has gained worldwide fame. The Chieftans are well known in Japan, having performed in Japan many times, and this album is a compilation of the best of their 60-year career. This album is the ultimate collection of 40 songs from their debut album "The Chieftans 1" on Claddagh Records to their latest album "Voice of Ages," transcending the boundaries of labels. Guests include The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Bon Iver, Alison Krauss, and Diana Krall. In addition, four rare and previously unreleased live recordings from the BBC's archives are included.As we look back on their great footsteps once again, this is the perfect album to sum up their entire career.
