Piazzolla's 100th birthday commemorative disc. Piazzolla was an Argentine composer and bandoneon player. He has been active since the 1940s as an avant-garde member of the Argentine tango movement. While utilizing traditional tango, he dared to incorporate different genres of music such as classical and jazz, and developed his own unique style, which earned him the nickname "the destroyer of tango. In his later years, classical performers began to pick up his works more and more often, and his popularity grew. This album contains all of Astor Piazzolla's representative pieces, from guitar and flute to "Tangaso," a full-scale orchestral work that Piazzolla left behind in his later years. This is a Japan-only project.
