40 years have passed since the death of Bill Evans (August 16, 1929 - September 15, 1980). This is a special compilation selected by Tower Records that concentrates the appeal of Bill Evans, who still attracts attention as a legend of jazz piano. This 2-CD set is the ultimate collection of Evans' beautiful piano style and skillful interplay, and includes 27 tracks in all. Latest mastering and SHM-CD specification. Disc 1 is the original version. In addition to Evans' own original masterpieces such as "Waltz for Debby," "Very Early," etc., this disc also includes famous performances of songs associated with Miles Davis and covers of Evans' masterpieces by Oscar Peterson, Stan Getz, Makoto Ozone, and others. Disc 2 is the standards section. It includes Evans' well-known standard tunes "Someday My Prince Will Come," "Kareha," and "My Foolish Heart," as well as recordings of his collaborations with Jim Hall, Cannonball Adderley, and others, and ends with a live performance of "Waltz for Debby," the last song of Evans' life.The classic song "Waltz for Debby," an indispensable Bill Evans classic, is available in four versions: a classic track from his own album, a cover version by Oscar Peterson, a vocal version by Monica Zetarlund, and a live performance of the song recorded at the end of Evans' life. The audience can listen to and compare the four versions of the performance. This is the culmination of Bill Evans' 2020 career, which has always fascinated many people and will continue to do so for many years to come.
