[Count Basie New Basie UHQCD Collection] A documentary film about Shoji Sugawara, the master of "Jazz Cafe Basie" known to jazz fans and audiophiles as a sacred place where one can hear the best analog sound, "Jazz Cafe Basie: Swifty's Ballad" (in theaters nationwide from May 29). To commemorate the release of the film, the store's namesake, the Count Basie Orchestra's classic and rare recordings are being reissued in high-quality UHQCD format. All recordings were made in the 50's and 60's, the golden years of the "New Basie" era, and are considered holy grails by big band enthusiasts. The 1963 recording features Basie's simple piano with a powerful brass ensemble. This is the first reissue in 15 years.
