This is the debut album of Avishai Cohen Big Vicious, a project started in 2014 by Tel Aviv-born trumpeter Avishai Cohen, who came to Japan for Tokyo Jazz in 2015, where many jazz fans were fascinated by his overwhelming performance. Avishai returned to his native Israel from the U.S. in 2014 and started this project. The motto of the album is "This Time is Different" (this time is different), the title of the recorded songs, genreless music reflecting the current times, with all the band members from Israel and old friends playing new material in a new style. The composition sessions were held at the studio of Yuval Havkin, a leading member of the Battering Trio, a future soul band from Tel Aviv, and known as one of the most important beatmakers/rejoicers in the Israeli beat scene.
