Iggy Pop's renowned "early solo trilogy" of "Idiot," "Last for Life," and "TV Eye: 1977 Live," plus demos, outtakes, and rare live recordings, is now available on 7 discs as a box set, officially released with Iggy's approval. The three RCA albums created in collaboration with his close friend David Bowie are all documents of Iggy's work in 1977, although "TV Eye: 1977 Live" was not released until 1978. The core of this box contains three discs, each of which has been remastered to the latest standards. Disc 4 contains demos, alternative mixes, and interviews from the making of the studio album, while discs 5, 6, and 7 contain a rare live performance at London's Rainbow Theatre on March 7, 1977, with Bowie on keyboards, as well as a live performance of "TV Eye: 1977 Live. Discs 5, 6, and 7 include a performance at the Rainbow Theatre in London on March 7, 1977, a performance at the Agora in Cleveland on March 21, part of which was also used in "TV Eye: 1977 Live", and a radio session recorded at Mantra Studios in Chicago on March 28.Also included is a 40-page booklet compiled by Michael Hearn of The Guardian magazine, which includes stories told by the musicians who participated in the album and comments from fans. This is a complete set that gives a bird's eye view of Iggy and Bowie's activities in 1977, along with the sound recordings.
