This is an anniversary project for the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth in 2020. Beethoven's piano sonatas, which Bureau called the "New Testament" of piano music, are the most important works at the core of the piano repertoire. Completed in 2014, Pollini's Beethoven: The Complete Piano Sonatas began with Nos. 30 and 31, recorded in 1975. This was followed by the recording of No. 32 and Nos. 28 & 29 in 1977, and it took 39 years for the complete cycle to be completed. In recent years, Pollini has been re-recording major repertoire such as Chopin, and now he finally tackled Beethoven's Beethoven. The Beethoven sonatas are recorded at 96kHz/24bit in 176.4kHz/24bit MQA format. Green color label coating.
