A too-beautiful Japanese pianist who was called a child prodigy in Russia. Kanon Matsuda's long-awaited second album after 3 years! The pieces on this recording are Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" and Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet. Both are the most popular works by leading Russian composers. The Prokofiev work is a selection of 10 pieces from the ballet of the same name, arranged for piano by the composer himself. Even in this work, which requires advanced technique and a rich sense of music, Kanon Matsuda reproduces an orchestral sound with a grand sense of scale and a variety of piano touches, which she is well versed in from her Russian background.
