The first-ever LP releases (both titles on black vinyl), released 10 years ago in August 2016 as part of the WAXRECORDS reissue series, sold out immediately. Prices on the secondhand market skyrocketed. We are now celebrating the reissue of these analog LPs, which have long been difficult to obtain. Both Surrogate Mother -1 and Music Hater -2 feature a special “clear pink vinyl” finish. Includes an obi strip. Furthermore, each album includes “special, newly written self-liner notes” based on a conversation between aCKy and sinner-yang. A new masterpiece from Omokage Lucky Hole (now OnlyLoveHurts), where every track can be confidently called a classic! ■ Album Overview: Surrogate Mother -1 The 1998 major-label debut album Surrogate Mother caused a sensation with its down-to-earth storytelling—so compelling that the late Takaaki Yoshimoto described the artist as “a creator of narrative poetry who is almost too skilled.” The first LP release (black vinyl), issued in 2016, sold out immediately, causing secondhand prices to skyrocket. With transaction prices easily exceeding tens of thousands of yen, this can truly be called a long-awaited analog reissue. Furthermore, it has been decided that the album will be released on analog LP for the first time on clear pink vinyl. Surrogate Mother is the very album that was pulled from release by one record label due to content issues, only to be released by another. The cover art is by Ken Tsukikage. As for the tracklist, it features a lineup of masterpieces affectionately referred to by fans by nicknames such as “Compass,” “Beer,” “Koshien,” “Puddle,” and “Sugamo.” This is a rare masterpiece in which every element—from the lyrics, vocals, and melodies to the instrumentation and artwork—conveys the band’s unique worldview, evoking a profound emotional response. Please note that this release omits one track from the original CD version. The track listing differs from that on the cover and lyric insert; we appreciate your understanding.
