Description:
[Panorama Series: Semi-New Pressings / Encore Pressings] "Panorama" is a series for beginners of classical music that compiles masterpieces of classical music by composer in two-disc sets using Deutsche Grammophon and Decca sound sources. With the exception of a few operas and other works, there are no fade-outs or movement excerpts, and the series is based on the recording of all the movements of a single work. The performances are all masterpieces that can be recommended with confidence. An encore pressing of 40 selected titles. This album contains Berlioz's masterpieces. Karajan recorded "Symphonie fantastique" twice for Deutsche Grammophon, and this is the second recording. This is the second recording of "Faust's Eternal Punishment" made by Seiji Ozawa in the year he became the Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Pavarotti's "Sanctus" is one of the few recordings of Pavarotti for Deutsche Grammophon. Dreams and Capriccios" is on the Philips disc, and "Summer Nights" on the Decca master.
