Andrea Battistoni became Principal Guest Conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in April 2015. This is a live recording of his subscription concert with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in May of the same year that solidified his name in Japan. Puccini's masterpiece "Turandot" was performed by two Italian singers who played the leading roles, leading Japanese soloists, chorus, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. This is a spectacular concert in concert format, but the dramaturgy is so realistic that you can feel it only through the sound. (C)RS
