Description:
A solo album by Maki Inoue, vocalist of "Love Notes. Spring" (booklet with Japanese translation) is the first album of seasonal love songs selected under the theme of "Seasons for Lovers. It is an album that evokes various feelings that are usually kept deep in the recesses of your mind, and you can enjoy the sensation of being drawn into the world of the songs before you know it. The musicians' skills as players and their fresh sensitivity as artists are fully demonstrated, and the more you listen to the album, the more you will be drawn in, and the gentler and more hopeful you will feel. (Excerpts from the liner notes follow.) At the end of March 2020, on the eve of the declaration of a state of emergency due to the new coronavirus, the twelve songs on this album were recorded. The images associated with spring are new life, flowers and birds, hope, rebirth, resurrection, etc.... But when I stepped out of the studio, the world was tense and the slightly early cherry blossoms did not seem to be enough to soothe people's hearts as in previous years. I felt that the events of this time of year must have changed the world so drastically, for better or worse, that we will never be able to return to the way things were.Despite our hopes and fears, we spent two days immersed in each other's music, inspired by each other's tones, and enraptured by each other. While selecting songs for this year's theme of "spring," I noticed that many of the songs were not about the joy of enjoying spring, but rather about waiting for spring and how it did not turn out the way we expected. " Spring" songs are songs of longing for the season symbolized by spring, of hope for a more joyful state of being than the present.
