Kent Nagano & Rebecca Hartman! Three stories about Stradivarius! Rebecca Hartmann, a talented violinist born in Munich, Germany, has teamed up with Kent Nagano, a master violinist. The core of the album is a new work by Uzbekistan-born, Berlin-based female composer Aziza Sadikova (1978-), "Stradivari" from 2020. The piece was inspired by the instrument used by Rebecca Hartmann (Antonio Stradivari 1675 《Hartmann Stradivari》) and written for her.It is a mysterious and colorful work that traces through sound the 300 years of history and memories that the instrument has gone through. The coupling includes the tragic masterpiece "Funeral Concerto," written by the German composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann, whose surname is the same as that of the player, who was deeply moved by the outbreak of World War II, and Ravel's famous "Tzigane," which is filled with admiration and superb technique for Roma (gypsy) music. With the deep support of the Rachmaninoff International Orchestra led by Kent Nagano (an orchestra composed of elite musicians from Eastern and Western Europe), Rebecca Hartmann brings the sound of her beloved Stradivari instrument to the utmost limit in this highly conceptual disc.
