The new 2024 recording by Nikolai Khozhainov, an up-and-coming pianist known for his many performances in Japan and his deep knowledge of Japanese culture, will be released on the German label Rondeau! The new album "Monument to Beethoven" is an interesting concept album about a historical tribute to Beethoven, which was born in the 1830s when the idea of building a monument in Bonn, Beethoven's birthplace, was born and was realized by musicians, musicologists and citizens. It became a revolutionary effort that was realized by musicians, musicologists, and citizens. Many of the most famous composers of the time, including Liszt, Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Chopin, donated their own works, arrangements, or concert proceeds to support the statue's construction.The music on this album has been carefully selected by Nikolai Khozhainov as being of particularly high quality from the works that contributed to the Beethoven Monument's fundraising efforts, each with its own, sometimes distinct, sometimes more subtle connection to Beethoven the composer. In addition to Liszt's arrangement of the moving Allegretto movement of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony for solo piano, Schumann's varied Exercises on a Theme by Beethoven, Mendelssohn's Strict Variations, and Schumann's Piano Fantasy, there is also Nikolai Khozhainov's own composition, Petals of Peace (Petals of Peace" by Nikolai Khozhaynov is also included. Petals of Peace" was composed for a peace concert held in 2022 at the "Alliance of Human Rights and Civilizations Room" of the United Nations Secretariat in Geneva, and was performed in Japan for the first time in 2024 during a tour of Japan.
